Vehicle Conditions

Thinking about trading in your vehicle? One of the first steps is to get an idea of what condition your current vehicle is in. Here is a general overview of  the terms we use to describe a vehicle’s condition and to help streamline our appraisal process.

Like New

• In excellent running condition

• Has never had any paint or body work

• Interior, paint, and body are free of any blemishes

• Very low mileage

• Spotless engine compartment, no fluid leaks or defects

• Tires are like-new

Great

• Clean and complete, verifiable title history

• Never had any paint or body work

• Needs no reconditioning

• Free of rust

• Only has minor scratches or scuffs, if any

• Clean engine compartment, no fluid leaks, wear or defects

• Vehicle has complete and verifiable service records

Good

• Free of any major mechanical or cosmetic defects

• Clean title history

• Interior, paint, and body have only minor, (if any) blemishes

• Little or no rust

• Tires have substantial tread wear left

• Will need some reconditioning to be sold at retail

Fair

• May have some mechanical or cosmetic defects

• May have minor, repairable rust damage

• A vehicle that is still in running condition but requires servicing

• Clean title history

• Paint, body, and/or interior need professional work

• Tires may need to be replaced

• May require minor repairs to pass an emissions inspection

Poor

• Severe mechanical and/or cosmetic defects

• In poor/non-safe running condition

• Defects that cannot be readily fixed such as a rusted-through body and/or damaged door frame

• Unsubstantiated millage

• Branded title (salvage, flood, collision, theft, etc.)

• May require major repairs to pass an emissions inspection
